Students were given the opportunity to learn about China’s industrial advancement and development with visits to Kashgar’s Comprehensive Bonded Zone, BYD Tianjin and several local manufacturers. Students also toured several cultural heritage sites including the Id Kah Mosque, Jiaohe Ruins, Grape Village, Azkhan Cultural Village, as well as many historical museums.
Students were able to connect with fellow university students in China, foster connections, and also meet residents of the cities of Beijing, Tianjin, and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The objective of this trip was to foster people-to-people ties, provide a robust cultural exchange, showcase the benefits of educational prospects and exchanges in China, and provide exposure to key economic development and human security issues.
