Nandita Adhikary
Nandita is a graduate student in Human Rights and Social Justice program at Thompson Rivers University. Previously, she has obtained another Masters in English Literature from BRAC University, Bangladesh. She has more than 3 years experience of working in the development communication and education field. Her research interest includes trauma and justice for Indigenous women in Canada, sexual and reproductive health and rights, labour migration in Asia.
Mehak Gahlot
Mehak is currently pursuing a MA in Human Rights and Social Justice at Thompson Rivers University. She advocates for human rights through policy. With a Bachelor’s in Global Studies and a graduate certificate in Public Service, she studied a diverse range of topics. Her academic background and experience served her with the potential to create policies that can make tangible impacts on people’s lives. Mehak is currently work as a Research Assistant to Dr. Wilson Bell, assisting with information gathering for his project on 44th Lenin Avenue. Previously, she worked as a Student Policy Advisor for the City of Guelph, where she advised the City Clerk on policies related to their new pilot initiative, the Home Visit Voting Program, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA). Additionally, she served as a Project Manager at Conestoga College, where she led an external capstone project; the Ontario Cooperative Association’s Director Compensation Survey.
